Girls U13

Roadrunners 2, Rampage 0 – In a battle between two local sides, KellyAnne Brophy and Kaitlin Brophy scored the goals to lift the Roadrunners to the win. Kelly O’Connor, Jill Jagoe, Sarah Attanasio, Alex Israel, Kristin Stoller and Becca Jaroszewski played great team defense for the ‘Runners as Casey Rutter made some acrobatic saves in goal for her fifth shutout of the season. The ‘Runners finished Northwest District play at 7-0-1.

Boys U13

New Hartford 3, Strikers 2 – Michael Carrafiello and Daniel Lynch scored the goals in the loss. Russell Morgan provided an assist. George Delia and Daniel Hufziger helped power the offense while Steven Zarifis and Alex Miller played well. Kyle Wildman played well in the goal.

Berkshire United 8, Strikers 5 – Kyle Moore scored a pair of goals while Daniel Lynch, Michael Carrafiello and Daniel Hufziger added one apiece but the Strikers fell. Assists were provided by Moore and Lynch. Rockwell Anyoha powered the offense while Ryan Pasko and Tony Vacaro played well.

Father’s Day Classic

Power, 3, Central Rhode Island 1 – Molly Mahony had two goals and Ale Fuentes added the third in a win over Central Rhode Island. Ali Korchman, Kelley Gaston and Ale Fuentes had assists as Hannah Maret, and Maddy Keane played solid midfield.

Power 5, Warwick 0 – Ale Fuentes had two goals while Kelley Gaston, Molly Mahony and Ali Korchman each contributed another. Meaghan Carney, Maddy Keane and Hannah Maret notched assists as Kendal Svanda and Stefanie Clavette shared the shutout in goal.

Power 1, SCYSA 1 – With eight seconds left in stoppage time, Kelley Gaston scored off a cross from Meaghan Carney to lift the Power into a tie and earn the locals a trip to the tournament championship. Maddy Keane, Cristina Naldini and Ali Korchman were dominant in the midfield as Leah Barrett, Cassie Fallon and Brooke Leifels secured the defense.

Power 5, Rhode Island Firefighter’s SC 1 – Ali Korchman notched a hat trick and Nora Murphy and Molly Mahony added a goal apiece in the rout. Nora Murphy, Nicole Davis, Cristina Naldini and Christina Caporale provided assists while Celeste Cheung, Abbie Keough and Katherine Scott were exceptional at defense.

Boys U12

Watertown 2, Force 1 – John Imbimbo scored the lone goal on an assist from Evan Garrett in a very close match up against Watertown. Tommy Stewart, Chad Cullens, and Chris McGowan did a great job controlling the midfield. Trevor Carey, Greg Campbell and Joe VanVeen anchored the defense.

Force 4, Torrington 1 – Sean Burson, Peter Ovendorf, Francis Afriyie and John Imbimbo (penalty kick) all scored to lead the Force to victory in their final game of the season. Austin Puleri, Burson, and Imbimbo provided the assists. Josh Gilbert, Travis LeBlanc and Jimmy Mooney played great defense.

Boys U11

Cobras 6, Shepaug 1 – Christian Mather, Connor Quinn, Chris Erikson, Ian Solaski and Andrew Kelley scored for the Cobras. The Midfield was controlled by Danny Bittman, Sam Langdon, Robert Willis and Stephen Conway.

Girls U11

Flash 2, Southbury 2 – Brittany Tolla and Stephanie Roman scored as the Flash earned a draw with Southbury. Kristiana Engler recorded the assist as the Flash completed an undefeated season with a share of the South West district championship.

Boys U10

Newtown FC 1, Southbury 0 – Gabe Keogler scored the lone goal to lift the Newtown FC to the win. Charlie Helgren recorded the assist. Brandon Marks controlled the midfield as Matt Baldino and Jonah Muniz anchored the defense. Sam Boland and Doug Miller played well.

Girls U10

Watertown 1, Jaguars 0 – In their last game of the season, the Jaguars came up just short. The team consisted of Taylor Brady, Ali Brazos, Reagan Cerney, Jaclyn Daily, Jamison Fletcher, Emily Grimes, Angela Halili, Lindsay Jagoe, Abi Kuligowski, Karlie Kuligowski, Tess Murray, Brooke Newton, Anna Northrop, Shannon O’Gorman and Danielle Shine.

Girls U14

Turf Trashers 3, Hyper Hippos 2 – Dana Bowers had two goals and Randi Johnson added one to lead the Trashers. Kyra Murray and Alex Klein played very well and Meagan Condon played excellent in goal. For the Hyper Hippos, Emily Dion and Margot Isaacs scored the first goals of their soccer careers. Katie Peters and Mara Scallon played well in goal as Mallory Reilly and Bianca LeBlanc had excellent games in the field.

Danbury Panthers 1, Hurricanes 0 (OT) – Samantha Whitley and Em Audet had awesome games in goal and in the midfield to lead the Hurricanes in a shootout loss to Danbury. Chelsea Young, Marisa Audet, Anna Bernath and Elena Unschuld played well.

Hurricanes 1, Danbury Panthers 0 – Anna Bernath scored the lone goal to lead the Hurricanes to the U14 championship. The list of champions includes Em Ashbolt, Marysa Audet, Em Audet, Courtney Berko, Keri Chernoff, Lauren Hutchison, Casey-Rose Kearns, Samantha Lew, Emma Sabin, Elena Unschuld, Chelsea Young, Em Teri and Samantha Whitley.

Girls U10

Ligers 1, Funky Monkeys 0 – A strong team effort, fueled by players who did not bow down to injuries, lifted the Ligers to the U10 division championship. For the Ligers, the champions list includes Hope McMorran and Lauren Sarna in the net; Siena Cicarelli and Meaghan Brophy at sweepers and midfield; Margo Trainer, Nicole Mendonca, Kacey Caplan, Mylis Post, Patricia Sullivan and Madeline Fletcher on defense; and Lyndsey Pearlman and Sally Martinelli on offense.

Funky Monkeys 2, Comets 1 – Amy Martin scored both goals to lift the Monkeys to the win and into the U10 division championship game. Emily Albrecht and Ashley Maturo provided good offensive support while Jennifer Davies and Bethany Dubois were strong in the midfield. For the Comets, Tami Corsi and Ellyn Gordon played a strong game on offense while Megan Meyer and Amanda Crowell were terrific on defense.

Boys U10

Average Joes 1, Munchkins 0 – Tyler Hanley scored the lone goal as the Average Joes captured the U10 division championship with a win over the Munchkins. Tim Kelly played well in goal, Rick Fuentes was solid on offense and Patrick Haggerty anchored the D. For the Munchkins, Ian Lew, Justin Germak, Austin Isola, and Alex Weber played solid defense as Harry Solaski and Taylor Rutter played great on offense.

Average Joes 2, Munchkins 1 – Will Carr and Andrew Derrickson each scored a goal to lift the Joes to a tournament win. Tyler Hanley played solid in goal and Mergim Bajraliu played well overall. For the Munchkins, Ian Lew, Jonathan Vaughan and Kevin Ovendorf played well on D. Timothy Vogelman and Tyler Ruefenacht powered the offense.

Boys U8

Bulldogs 4, Tigersharks 2 – Clay Gattey scored three goals and Ryan King added one to lift the Bulldogs to the win. Alan Bersch and William Kelchner provided assists while Sam Duffy and Danny Romeo anchored the D. For the ‘Sharks, Anthony Vournazous and Nick Rohrbacher scored while Constant Gregoire and Payton Manning each had assists and Dylan Lew was great on defense.

Strikers 5, Rockets 4 – Lukas Palumbo and Spencer Anderson scored two goals apiece to secure the win for the Strikers. Eddie Godino played well on defense and Nick Samuelsson was great on defense and in goal. For the Rockets, Jonathan Rospenda scored twice while Chris Rovelli and Alister Sore scored one each. Nick Rubino had a fine defensive game.

Huskies 3, Tornadoes 0 – Michael Parker scored two goals, one off an assist from Jordan Abraham, to lead the Huskies to the win. Cole Rogalin also scored as Jared Brady and Declan Sullivan anchored the D.

Girls U8

Ball Hogs 6, Fireballs 0 – Julia Schoeni scored two goals and Caitlin Filiato, Kaylie Daniels, Taryn McCleary and Victoria Teixeira scored one apiece to lead the Hogs. Jamie Calandro was solid on D. For the ‘Balls, Katerina Ringes and Chloe Amante sparkled on defense while Leah Bromberg and Danielle Mola had strong games on offense.

Cheetah Champions 5, Munchkins 1 – Kayleigh Shambelan and Cassie Fischer scored two goals apiece to lead the Cheetahs to the win. Kimberly Brello also scored as Stefanie Carr played a great overall game. For the Munchkins, Amy Martinelli scored the lone goal while Geralyn Klein played well in goal. Nicole Russo and Avery Higham were excellent on offense and defense.

Ball Hogs 5, Comets 1 – Julia Schoeni scored three goals and Caitlin Filiato scored two goals to lead the Hogs to the win. Taryn McCleary played a great all around game as Amanda Albranesi and Erica Smith provided strong defensive support. For the Comets, Brenna Kelly scored the goal. Callan Rafferty played a great defensive game, Hannah Fitzgerald was strong on offense and Megan Olszewski played a great all around game.

Racing Stripes 3, Tigers 3 – Taylor Lafave, Emily Riley, and Samantha Cannaveo each scored for the Stripes while Alexis Tucker was very solid on defense in the draw. The Tigers came from behind all game and tied it up late in the fourth quarter.

Mustangs 4, Golden Stars 1 – Jessica Keller, Madeline Sieber and Jessica Coughlin all scored goals for the Mustangs in the win. Lucy Helgren played well in goal. For the Golden Stars, Katie Bedell, Emma Burns, Amanda Martinez, Sarah Lyon, Sara Lampel and Catherine McHugh played well.

Ball Hogs 4, Golden Stars 0 – Caitlin Filiato scored twice while Callie Kraushaar and Jamie Calandro each tallied once to lead the Hogs. Julie Schoeni played a strong defensive game and Stephanie Haas was great on offense. For the Golden Stars, Olivia Holman, Hannah Logan, Julia Rist and Molly Begg had great games.

 

U6

Nighthawks 1, Team (#8) 0 – Matthew Bucci scored the lone goal to lead the Nighthawks to the win. Matthew Bucci, Jenna Ciavara, Evan Kohlsaat and Mallory LoBuglio played well offensively for the Nighthawks while Mark Webb played strong defense.

Panthers 3, Blue Yankees 1 – The Panthers wrapped up an undefeated season with a win. Evan Eggleston scored two goals and Max McCleary had one goal as Connery Mayer played well on offense and Philip Coffey and Maya Delity played well on defense. This was the first loss of the year for the Blue Yankees, who were led by Megan Doyle (one goal), Kayla Crosby, Luke Kaplan and Olivia Kaplan.
