SOUTHBURY — The Gate House Cafe will present The Sherry Winston Band in the next free concert of the café’s 2006 summer series.

The concert is scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The Gate House Cafe is on Route 172, three miles north of I-84 Exit 14 (in front of Southbury Training School).

In case of rain, the concert will be held under the pavilion; follow signs.

Sherry Winston has performed in many of the major concert halls throughout the United States including Carnegie Hall, Constitution Hall, Lincoln Center and at the Kennedy Center. She is a musician, composer, and businesswoman who handles all of her own bookings, negotiating and management of her band.

Ms Winston had the honor of performing for two sitting Presidents: President and Mrs Clinton during their last holiday party at the White House, and President George H. Bush at The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City.

She has been a featured guest on the Today Show, Emeril Live, has co-hosted and performed on eight shows for BET-TV, and was featured in an artist profile in The New York Times in March 2000.

Ms Winston recently released her fifth CD, entitled For Lovers Only. Through the years she has had many requests from her fans for a romantic CD that would be perfect for entertaining or relaxing after a stressful day at work. This latest musical offering is her answer to that request.
