Sandy Hook Organic

Farmers’ Market  Approaching

St John’s Episcopal Church will welcome the return of The Sandy Hook Organic Farmers’ Market on Tuesday, June 27. The event will continue every Tuesday between the hours of 2 and 6 pm until October 3.

Opening day will feature music by Roger Sprung & Company from 2 to 4 pm. There will also be hot dogs and veggie dogs, with fixins’, served during the first two hours of opening day (or as supplies last) as well.

The weekly event offers organic farmers, along with florists, bakers, artists, jewelers, and weavers. There are special children’s activities each week, and a toddler fishing pond will be set up each week beginning in July.

The market will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, but will return on July 11 and run continuously thereafter.

This summer will mark the fourth anniversary for the weekly event, which takes place behind St John’s Episcopal Church, at 3 Washington Avenue. The market is moving into the paved parking lot of the church this year, making it handicapped accessible. The market will be accepting WIC coupons and cards this year.

For additional information call The Little Green Barn at 270-1820.
