Same Day Birthdays For Sisters' Babies
Same Day Birthdays For Sistersâ Babies
By Nancy K. Crevier
Most accountants have reason to celebrate when April 15 rolls around, signaling the end of the official tax season. This year, local accountant Jeffrey Bernstein and his wife, Karla, had additional reasons to pop the cork. On April 15, both of their daughters gave birth at Danbury Hospital.
Jayden Andrew Cordova, son of their daughter and son-in-law Ali and Jeremy Cordova, came into the world on April 15 at 1:19 am, weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces. Just 18 hours later, their daughter, Beth, and her husband, Anthony Guerrera, welcomed a 7-pound daughter, Ashley Alison Guerrera.
The sisters, who grew up in Newtown and live here now, have always been close, but the babiesâ birth dates were completely unplanned, say the sisters.
âYou couldnât plan that if you tried,â Mrs Cordova said.
The due dates for the sisters were five days apart, and neither expected to end up with babies born the very same day.
âMy sister and family had been at the hospital with me when I gave birth, then 15 hours later, Beth was back,â said Mrs Cordova. âI just wheeled my baby down the hall to see her.â
Now 10 weeks old, the baby cousins see each other nearly every day. And when they spit up, it is onto bibs that read âThe Ultimate Tax Deduction.â
âMy dad kept saying âJust wait till after tax day,ââ laughs Ali Cordova.
