Gratitude For Continued Help

In Wiping Out Leukemia

To the Editor:

This spring the fifth annual Coins For The Cure — To Wipe Out Leukemia was a success. Thanks to the Interact Club of Newtown Middle School for their help. The students collected coins in the cafeteria.

There were also blue covered coffee cans at Berkshire Motors, Newtown Mobil Gas Station, The Ice Cream Shop, and Stop & Save Liquors. Thanks again for their continued support. Special thanks to Union Savings Bank at Commerce Park, Danbury, for counting all the coins.

I was able to send a check for almost $500 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Fairfield County. This fundraiser is held in memory of our son, Greg, who lost his life six years ago to leukemia. Together we can continue to raise funds for the research to find a cure.

Once again, you have proven that “It’s Nicer in Newtown!”

Yours, truly,

Ginny Chion
