Grateful For Help From Parks & Rec

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the gentlemen of Newtown Parks and Recreation for all the help they gave with the luminaries for Newtown’s annual Relay For Life.

This year the sand was packaged in individual plastic bags, versus buckets of sand, in which case I am sure a lot of time went into this. On the day of the relay, Parks & Rec, my two daughters — Mallory and Courtney — and I, were there to line the track with the luminaries. Between placing the bags of sand and individual candles into thousands of bags, to lining the track, this process would have been too much for three people to handle without the help of Parks & Rec.

Unfortunately, I do not know everyone’s name, so I cannot thank you individually. However, I can’t say enough how grateful I am for all the help that Parks & Rec has done this year and in the past for the Relay For Life.
