The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard (2GHG) is inviting local craftsmen, artisans, and area businesses to share their talents, products, and goods and services at the 2GHG annual Fall Festival. This year’s event is planned for Saturday, September 7, 11 am to 3 pm, on the beautiful grounds of the 2GHG property, 4 Trades Lane (within the Fairfield Hills campus) in Newtown.

Offering a wide variety of family focused activities, including musical horse shows, cavalry displays, pony rides, interactive child and family focused activities, face painting, food vendors, and more, the event greets over 400 visitors from area towns annually.

The 2GHG is an all-volunteer state military element. Chartered in 1808, 2GHG is one of the oldest surviving military cavalry troops in the United States. Its mission is to serve the Governor and the residents of Connecticut by bringing history-rich educational programs to all ages, preserving Connecticut’s strong and revolutionary history, through participation in ceremonial functions, including parades, special appearances, and presidential and gubernatorial inaugurations.

Vendors will be provided a designated 10 x 10 space and lawn sign. Vendors must reserve in advance, and space is limited.

For additional information including vendor application and fees, contact Cpl Tracey Pertoso at Treiser4@aol.com or 203-605-7828 or Cpl Melanie Bonjour at BonjourM@ct-institute.org or 203-733-9253.
