Photos Of Jazz Greats At Library

SHERMAN — As part of the 100th anniversary of jazz icon Benny Carter, Sherman Library will present “Just the Mood,” an exhibit of photographs showcasing some of the greatest jazz musicians of all time, including Mr Carter.

The photos were taken by photographer and jazz historian Edward Berger, assistant director of the Rutgers University Institute of Jazz Studies. The photos of Mr Carter might be of particular interest to the residents of Sherman, where Mr Carter’s widow Hilma has long been a resident.

The exhibit will be at the library, 1 Sherman Center, Tuesday, July 3, through Tuesday, July 31. Library hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11 am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm. For additional information, contact the library at 860-354-2455.
