Now that Relay 2007 is over, and the excitement it brings to Newtown is calming down, I would like to recognize two special people. Chair Helen Benson and Activities Chairperson Lynda Russo have taken on this monumental task with incredible ability.

Relay For Life exists and thrives because of so many volunteers — of who we are most grateful for. The support the Newtown community has shown Relay For Life is truly overwhelming. Helen Benson and Lynda Russo have been involved with Relay all four years, and have managed Relay with exceptional experienced hands. And mostly, over these past years, they have overseen Relay without much attention to themselves.

Helen and Lynda, thank you for your dedication to the American Cancer Society, and the unending work and energy you have given which has helped make Relay For Life, Newtown, the success it is.
