Storm Leaves 503 Without Power

It was lights out early for 503 Newtown homes and businesses Wednesday night thanks to the early evening thunder and lightning storm experienced through the region.

Connecticut Light & Power spokesman Roz Wimbish explained that 503 Newtown customers were without power at some point during the Wednesday night storm that not only blackened households, but also darkened the sky.

Lightning and trees are what caused the outages, according to Ms Wimbish. All power was restored to customers by five o’clock Thursday morning.
