Joan Ann Pollock Mattern, 79, of Stratford, beloved wife of Robert Mattern, died at home on June 18, with her loving family by her side.www.adzimafuneralhome.com.

She was a member of the Newtown Country Club for 28 years.

Her beloved husband of 60 years; devoted children Robert Mattern of Florida, Michael Mattern and his companion, Michelina Accettullo, of Shelton, and Pamela Dalling and her husband, Richard, of Stratford; and eight cherished grandchildren survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Monsignor Martin Ryan, at 11 am, on Wednesday, June 22, meeting directly at Our Lady of Grace Church, 298 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. (Due to construction the Mass will be celebrated in the Church Hall.)

Interment will be in St John's Cemetery,  Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 23, from 4 to 7 pm, in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations in memory of Mrs Mattern to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill CT 06067-3045.
