Pops Concert On CityCenter Green

DANBURY — On Saturday, June 21, at 7:30 pm, all are invited to dress as their favorite Star Wars character when Danbury Music Centre and CityCenter Danbury kick-off the outdoor summer music season with the annual concert by Danbury Symphony Orchestra on the CityCenter Green on Ives Street.

This year’s program, “Invasion from Outer Space,” will include scores from 2001: Space Odyssey, Superman and a 25-minute medley from the Stars Wars trilogy.  The public is also encouraged to bring a picnic supper, chairs and blankets to enjoy the free concert featuring familiar musical selections from well-known movies.

Continuing with the movie theme, Stars Wars Storm Troopers will be in attendance and the event will conclude with an outdoor laser light show sure to amaze concertgoers of all ages. 

Danbury Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Ariel Rudiakov, has been the premier orchestra in Danbury since 1935. Its mission is to provide opportunities for area residents to perform great music and present concerts of high quality to the public.
