NSA Announces 2008 Scholarship Awards

The Newtown Scholarship Association (NSA), Inc, has made its decision for awards for 2008 high school graduates.

Eighteen students received awards for a total of $60,000. Seventeen of the students graduated this week from Newtown High School; Nicholas Rosa is a Fairfield Prep graduate.

It is anticipated that an additional $150,000 will be awarded for continuing aid this year.

Newtown Scholarship Association is a nonprofit organization founded in 1937 and since then has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships to Newtown students. The association receives almost all of its donations from the generous people and businesses of Newtown.

The 2008 scholarship recipients are as follows:
