Northfield ARA Field Day Planned

BRIDGEWATER — Northville Amateur Radio Association (ARA) will conduct its annual Field Day activities for 24 continuous hours beginning Saturday, June 28, at 2 pm in Bridgewater.

When all other forms of communication are disabled by either a manmade or natural disaster, “ham” radio operators have shown time and time gain they can get the message through, and have been quick to rally to the aid of the Red Cross, fire, EMS, and law enforcement in times of need.

Field Day is when local ham radio operators hone these skills by operating on emergency power, with temporary stations set up across the country.

The public is invited to learn more about ham radio and Northville ARA. Visit the Bridgewater Recreation Area on Hut Hill Road, Saturday afternoon, June 28, through Sunday morning, June 29.
