Mountain Bike Event For Park Improvements

REDDING — The Connecticut Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association announces a benefit mountain bike ride at Collis P. Huntington State Park on Sunday, June 22. The noncompetitive, recreational bike ride will help raise funds for trail improvements at this 878-acre park.

Come explore this park along marked loops for all levels of riders, from hardcore enthusiasts to family and children. There will be bicycle demos available from Kona Bicycles, Eastern Mountain Sports, Cannondale, and Iron Horse. Campmor Women’s Race Team will be holding a woman’s mountain bike skills clinic, and there will be a skills area for riders to practice their techniques. To top things off, competitive BBQist Jaime Schier will hold a postride BBQ to benefit the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Registration for the event is from 9 to 11 am. There will be lead rides in the morning or participants may follow the marked course at their leisure.
