ak/gs set 6-20 #703887
SANDWICH, MASS. â Mother Nature cooperated with Cape Cod Antiques Dealers Associationâs (CCADA) 28th Annual Spring Outdoor Antiques Show and Sale on June 3. A brief shower at opening time passed quickly and the large lighted tent was soon filled with shoppers looking for treasures. The layout allowed for a comfortable traffic flow at the Heritage Museum and Gardens, 67 Grove Street.
There was a steady flow of customers throughout the show hours and dealers from the approximately 47 showings, reported sales of such items as chests of drawers, sterling silver, desks, churn, stoneware, paintings, jewelry, scrimshaw, a half boat model, metalware, baskets, mirrors.
One interesting item sold, was a round Nineteenth Century snuff box inlaid on the front with a sailorâs compass; it was signed and dated on the back. The piece was found in Santa Fe, N.M., and made its way to the east coast to a local dealerâs booth.
Customers and dealers were pleased with the look of the show. Dealers commented on the ease with which they could set up and break down their exhibits when the show was over. Many of the participants have exhibited at this show for many years, and the newcomers were very complimentary with their remarks.
Show manager Carl Bergfors and his show committee planned and executed a successful show according to dealers and buyers. For more information, www.ccada.com or CCADA, PO Box 25, Cummaquid MA 02636.
