A Day Outdoors At Cullens
Recently Girl Scout Troop #138 enjoyed the outdoors at Cullens Youth Association, a division of Newtown Youth Services, in Sandy Hook.
The girls spent the day preparing for their first overnight. After preparing their campsite, they spent the day learning and practicing Girl Scout camping skills such as pitching a tent, learning to build a fire, and using a bow saw. They also learned how to roll a sleeping bag and pack an overnight case the Girl Scout way.
After a hard day of work, the girls enjoyed a dinner they cooked for themselves over an open fire (including sâmores, of course!).
