HARTFORD â âMasterpieces of American Art,â an exhibition of 60 premiere works of art from the permanent collection of New Britain Museum of American Art (NBMAA), will be on view at the Old State House in Hartford through August 11, thanks to a collaboration between the two institutions.
The exhibition is funded by a grant from the Connecticut Humanities Council.
âWeâre extremely pleased for this opportunity to share some of the museumâs well-known works of art with an even larger audience in the greater Hartford area this summer,â said Douglas Hyland, NBMAA director. âOur sincere hope is that those who view our art at the Old State House will take the next step and also visit our permanent collection on view in New Britain.â
âThis exhibition is the first of many the Old State House has created to showcase a great Connecticut museum,â said Wilson Faude, executive director of the Old State House. âThis extraordinary exhibition will fill the galleries and provide Old State House members and guests with a unique opportunity to view these masterworks.â
