Rebuilding &_Revue For BTD

BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Theatre & Dance Co. executive producer Matt Grimes has announced the company is in the process of rebuilding its organization and preparing for a full program in 2001-02.

In the meantime, BTD plans to hold a fundraiser cabaret-revue celebrating young local talent in Bethel in early-to-mid August.

The revue will feature songs (solos, duets, and choral numbers) from Broadway musicals from the 1950s to the present.

While auditions are open to all, singers aged 16 to 25 are strongly preferred. High school and college students are especially encouraged. The cast is tentatively expected to include four males and four females, subject to change.

Auditions are by appointment. Call musical director Harriet Siskin at 743-1167 to make an appointment.

Those auditioning must bring a prepared piece to sing, and while dancing is not required, the show may include some.
