SCAN To Host Noreika Landscape Demo, June 26

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will have Robert Noreika of Rocky Hill demonstrating painting a landscape in watercolor at its next meeting, Wednesday, June 26, at 1:30 pm. Mr Noreika’s subjects are varied, including expressive coastal scenes and intimate woodland and countryside pictorials.

The program will be in the lower level of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole). The public is invited, free of charge.

Robert Noreika is a prominent watercolorist and illustrator whose paintings hang in many corporate and private collections throughout the US, Europe and Japan. His technical expertise was featured in Artists Magazine in April 1998, and in the June 2013 issue of American Art Collector magazine as part of an article about Addison Gallery on Cape Cod.

He was awarded first prize in the National Casein and Acrylic Show in 2005, and he received a Gold Medal Founders Award from the CT Plein Air Painters Society.

Mr Noreika holds Artist Membership in The Salmagundi Club in New York City.

He teaches and lectures throughout New England,where he is represented in numerous galleries. He will be conducting a workshop on Bailey’s Island, Maine, August 5-9.

“Cove Life” by Robert Noreika, who will offer the next free artist’s demonstration hosted by The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown. Mr Noreika will be at Newtown Meeting House on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 26.
