Hawleyville Accident

Police report a two-vehicle collision that occurred in the rain during heavy traffic conditions about 4:42 pm on June 13 on Hawleyville Road at its intersection with the westbound ramps for Interstate 84.

Motorist Aimee Moore, 31, of Danbury, who was driving a 1998 Subaru Legacy sedan southward on Hawleyville Road, mistakenly attempted to make a left turn onto westbound I-84’s off-ramp, so she then attempted to reenter southbound Hawleyville Road, police said.

At that time, motorist Michelle Angelovich, 19, of New Milford, who was driving a 2005 Saturn Ion sedan, was traveling northward on Hawleyville Road, police said.

Angelovich applied her brakes, but went into a skid on the wet road and the two vehicles collided, police said.

Ambulance volunteers transported Moore to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Hawleyville firefighters went to the accident. Police said they issued Moore an infraction for making a restricted turn.

GMC Vs Ford

Motorist Christopher Teri, 17, of 3 Adams Hill Road, who was driving a 2001 GMC Denali SUV northward on Hawleyville Road, near its intersection with Barnabas Road, about 9:46 pm June 14, swerved in order to avoid an animal that had run onto the road, resulting in the SUV crossing the road’s center line, police report.

At that time, motorist Daniel Goncalves, 30, of Danbury was driving a 2005 Ford Focus coupe southward, police said.

The Ford attempted to avoid the GMC, but the two vehicles collided, police said. There were no injuries. Teri received an infraction for failure to drive to the right, police said.
