Casinos Report Slots Revenue Down
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticutâs two casinos are reporting lower slot machine revenue in May compared with a year ago, but the numbers are up over the past few months.
Mohegan Sun says it took in about $69.9 million from slots in May, about 7 percent less than May 2008 but about $5.6 million more than April of this year. Foxwoods Resort Casino, including MGM Grand at Foxwoods, reports a May slot win of $62.2 million, down 14 percent from May of last year but about $4.7 million more than in April of this year.
The May figures were the best of this year for both casinos. Both casinos hand over 25 percent of their slot revenue to the state. Mohegan Sun gave the state $17.5 million, while Foxwoods turned over $15.6 million.
