*Well as if you haven’t heard by now, THE ROLLING STONES will be making a stop at Hartford Civic Center in the fall… and making history when their tickets go on sale in a few days. Tickets for The Rolling Stones World Tour 2002-03 are priced at $51.50, $91.50, $151.50 and $301.50 for the Saturday, October 5, stop in Hartford. $300 for a ticket from a box office has got to be a record.

Tickets are going on sale Monday morning. They’ll be sold through all TicketMaster outlets including Filene’s, TicketMaster charge-by-phone (860-525-4500, 203-624-0033 or 744-8100), or online at www.HartfordCivicCenter.com. The civic center’s ticket link goes right over to TicketMaster, so save yourself the step on Monday and go right to TicketMaster.com.

The civic center’s box office will not be open for the first day of sales on Monday, but will be open for the Stones concert (and any other shows) if seats remain on Tuesday, June 25.

Sir Mick and the boys will be taking a roundabout route on this tour, which opens with three dates in three different venues in Boston. The band heads to Chicago for three more shows in three different venues, then Philadelphia and New York City for more of the same, then two shows at the FedEx Field in Washington, D.C., before hitting Hartford.

*JIM ALLEN and DAN BONIS return to Next Stop Café in Bethel next weekend. The duo’s performance on Saturday, June 29, will also include special guest Pam Bertoli. Details next week.

*After debuting at The Webster Theatre in Hartford last weekend, Newtown-based GIA will perform at Tuxedo Junction on June 26 as the opener for COREY FELDMAN’S TRUTH MOVEMENT. Gia is expected to take the stage about 9:30 on Wednesday, June 26; doors will open at 8.

The band – David Goodwick, Joshua Swetts, Shannon Dooley and Jason Bates – recently finished recording its first self-titled album, which is now in post-production with Don Grossinger at Europadisk, and is expected to be released in early August. Gia, says Godowick, “blends modern rock with soulful melodies to create music you can feel.”

*Both DAVE MATTHEWS BAND shows (July 25 and 26) at The Meadows are sold out.

*MARC ANTHONY will tape a special at Mohegan Sun Arena on June 27 that will be aired on CBS at a later date. Tickets are $30 and $20 and are on sale. The Latin hottie returns in September for a full concert to the same location.

*Hair-metal acts DOKKEN, RATT, WARRANT, FIREHOUSE and L.A. GUNS have announced the itinerary for Rock Fest 2002, a 22-date package tour which is set to begin June 20 in Fargo, N.D., and reaches Connecticut Expo Center in Hartford on July 17.

*Alt-rockers WEEZER have confirmed U.S. tour dates for the summer, set to begin July 6. Support will be provided by DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL and SPARTA (featuring members of AT THE DRIVE-IN). THE STROKES will not be on the bill when the tour plays the Meadows, although the New York-based band is playing with Weezer on other dates.

The show will be at Meadows Music Centre in Hartford on July 20. Tickets are $23.50 in the reserved/pavilion area and $18.50 on the lawn.

The summer US tour will be followed with England festival gigs in late August.

*Tickets for TOMMY LEE’s show at The Webster in Hartford have gone on sale, but note that the date of that show has changed. It will now be on August 1. The show was originally announced as July 31.

*Alt-rock band GOO GOO DOLLS has announced more time on the road, this time with THIRD EYE BLIND. Having just played a sold-out show at Mohegan Sun Arena, the trio will return to Connecticut on August 13 for a show at the ctnow.com Meadows Music Centre in Hartford.

Tickets for this show, which will include opening sets by THIRD EYE BLIND and VANESSA CARLTON, will go on sale Saturday morning at 10. They’re priced at $20 for the lawn and $35 for the pavilion area.

*Apparently the rumors are true: Former Van Halen frontmen DAVID LEE ROTH and SAMMY HAGAR will co-headline on August 22 at the ctnow.com Meadows Music Centre. Why?

Reserved seats are $35, $45 and $65 for the pavilion, and $20 for anywhere on the lawn. Those tickets are also going on sale Saturday at 10.

*Teen pop singer AARON CARTER has announced a North American tour this summer, titled “Rock, Rap and Retro.” Carter also played a sold-out show in Connecticut the last time he was in the state. His winter show at the Oakdale, part of a three-month Winter Party Tour, was a capacity gig. Carter returns to the same venue on September 20. No tickets yet.

*The next concert to be hosted by The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art will be TEDDY THOMPSON on Sunday, June 30. The pop/rock/folk artist (and only son of British folk-rock icons Richard and Linda Thompson) has a 7:30 performance scheduled next Sunday night. This is a continuation of the museum’s stage a: performances series.

Tickets are $20, seating is limited, and reservations are required; call 203-438-4519 for reservations. The museum is wicked easy to find – it’s at 258 Main Street in Ridgefield, which is also Route 35. If you’re heading over from Newtown, follow Route  35 through the center of town, then watch for the museum. It’ll be on the left.

*I didn’t realize this until late last week, but Connecticut missed out on BILLY BOB THORNTON’s show a few weeks ago. The Palace Theatre in Stamford apparently pulled the plug.

Until next week, I’ll be seeing you… on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks, c/o Bee Publishing Co., 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call The Bee office at 426-3141.

Shows listed on the calendar at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
