Grace N. Inaba

Grace N. Inaba, 78, a resident of Redding since 1962, died on June 17 at her home after an extended illness. She was the wife of Harry S. Inaba.

She was the mother of Karen Gordon of Newtown.

Mrs Inaba was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on April 21, 1923, a daughter of the late Kenjiro and Hatsuki Mori Nozawa.

In addition to her husband of 56 years and her daughter, she is survived by her children, Lisa Russo of Danbury, Robert Inaba of Houston, Tex.,  and Michael Inaba of Baldwin, N.Y.; one sister, Kazuko Tamura of Santa Ana, Calif.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs Inaba was predeceased by her brother, Toru Nozawa.

Some of Grace’s interests included golfing, reading and enjoying life to the fullest. Despite her shyness, she still shared her experience with the students of Joel Barlow High School regarding the relocation camps during World War II. Grace was a wonderful wife, mother and friend; we will all miss her dearly.

A private gathering will be held to celebrate her life.

Arrangements were made by the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street, Georgetown.
