'Unity In Diversity' Programs Preview
Unity in Diversity can be viewed on Charter CommunityVision (Channel 192) each Monday at 12:30 pm and again on Wednesday at 5:30 pm. This program features interviews with prominent pastors, rabbis, imams and other spiritual leaders of a variety of faith traditions.
“In this time of world crises where extreme radicals of various religious persuasions are abusing their outrageous claims to faith, we have an opportunity to learn more about Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Bahá’í, Unitarianism, or one of the many Christian communities, including Orthodox, Anglican, Protestant, and Roman Catholic — all in a nonthreatening manner,” says program coordinator the Reverend Leo McIlrath. Rev McIlrath, Dmin, is also coordinator of Corpus Connecticut Community and ecumenical chaplain to The Lutheran Home of Southbury.
Programs for the coming weeks are as follows:
June 29 and July 1, A Visit with theologian Dr Kathleen Chesto, Southbury;
July 6 and 8, Father Angelo Arrando, St Gregory Church, Danbury;
July 13 and 15, Pastor Allen German, St Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury;
July 20 and 22, the Reverend Ann Beams, Valley Presbyterian Church, Brookfield;
July 27 and 29, Kevin’s Community Center with founder and director Dr Michael Taweh, Newtown; and
August 3 and 5, Reverend Laura Westby, former pastor at Danbury Congregational Church.
