Many years ago Newtown had an indoor antiques show spread out over three floors of Edmond Town Hall on Main Street. Now Newtown is about ready to host an outdoor Antiques Market on the spacious grounds of the Fairfield Hills Campus, at 3 Primrose Street.

This benefit for Newtown Historical Society will be on Saturday, June 21, from 10 am to 5 pm, with more than 60 exhibitors.

Frank Gaglio, owner and manager of the show for Barn Star Productions, is “predicting” fine weather and presenting a slate of exhibitors who will be bringing a wide variety of antiques, from Americana and lots of country to pieces from the 20th Century.

“Shows today need a nice mix of both period and range of collecting, and we are striving to present just that,” said Mr Gaglio, who urges all to “come out and have a great day. It is going to be fun and there will be lots of things to buy.”

Among the exhibitors participating in the show will be At Home Antiques, Harold Cole and Bettina Krainian, Dennis and Valerie Bakoledis, Scott Hart Smith Antiques, John Hunt Marshall Antiques, Michael Black Antiques, James Grievo Antiques, Gardenalia-Antiques, Wenham Cross Antiques, Village Braider Antiques, Brennan and Mouilleseaux, Dennis Raleigh Antiques, J.B. Richardson Antiques, Susanne Gray Antiques, Susie and Rich Burmann, Sheila Hyland, Donne Kmetz Fine Art, Pantry Box Antiques, Charles M. Guinipero, Debbie Turi, Marc Witus, The Holden’s, David Thompson Antiques and Art, DBR Antiques: Doug Ramsay, Steven’s Antiques, John Bourne Antiques.

Dealers are signing on weekly. An updated list is available online.

“We are very pleased with the excellent line up for this new show and have room to expand should dealer interest continue to grow,” said Mr Gaglio. “The Newtown Antiques Market was born out of dealers requesting a show in June that is one day, centrally located in a great community, cost effective and targeting real collectors with diverse interests. The Newtown Antiques Market fulfilled all of their criteria plus it benefits the Newtown Historical Society — but first and foremost will be the wonderful antiques our exhibitors will be bringing for sale now including garden decorations and furniture so plan to spend the day.”

General admission is $8, and there is no early buying. Parking is free. Refreshments will be available for purchase all day from members of Newtown Hook & Ladder Fire Co #1.
