‘FREDERICK B. SCHEEL GIFT’ AT MIA

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. — The Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) presents a two-part exhibition, “The Frederick B. Scheel Gift to the MIA Photography Collection,” Part I will be on view July 7–November 4 and Part II December 1–March 30.

The exhibition highlights and celebrates the gift of more than 400 photographs from the collection of Frederick B. Scheel. Acquired over a period of nearly 40 years, the collection includes some of the most recognizable photographs from the late Nineteenth Century to the 1960s. Iconic images from such notable artists as Alfred Stieglitz, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Paul Strand, Bill Brandti, Edward Weston, David Octavius Hill and W. Eugene Smith will be on view.
