William Robert Richard Cassidy

William Robert Richard Cassidy died June 11 in Sherman as the result of a motorcycle accident at the age of 49. He was the husband of Pamela Durkin Cassidy and lived on Candlewood Mountain Road in New Milford.

Mr Cassidy was born January 10, 1955, son of Shirley Shannon Cassidy Glynn and the late David Cassidy. He graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury with the Class of 1973. A resident of New Milford for the past 23 years, he settled there after being a resident of Sandy Hook since his birth.

Mr Cassidy was lead logistics planner for Pitney Bowes in Newtown, where he was employed for the last 30 years. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Giants fan. His pastime was woodworking and he built the family home in New Milford.

Mr Cassidy will be sadly missed by his wife Pamela of 23 years, his son Kolin, daughters Kristin and Kaitlyn, and grandson Tyler, all of New Milford; his loving mother Shirley of Sandy Hook; and brother David of Colorado; his sister Maureen Manwaring and her husband Roger of Gaylordsville; and his sister Shawne Cassidy of Norwalk; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as friends and neighbors, will also mourn his loss.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 16 in the Lady of the Lake Church in New Milford.

Burial will be in St Rose Cemetery in Newtown.

Those wishing to make memorial donations may make them to the charity of their choice.
