Rotary Sponsors Lyme Lecture
BROOKFIELD â The Brookfield Rotary Club is holding an informational lecture on Lyme disease on Monday, June 28, from 7 to 9 pm, at the Candlewood Inn. Admission is free and open to the public.
The lecture will explore the problems associated with diagnosis and treatment of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases that are prevalent in Connecticut.
The speakers include Lyme specialist Richard Horowitz, MD; Pat Smith, president of the Lyme Disease Association, Inc; Brookfield First Selectman Jerry Murphy, and Superintendent of Schools John Goetz.
Dr Horowitz is a practicing physician in Hyde Park, N.Y., who specializes in diagnosis and treatment of Lyme and other tick-borne illnesses. He is an internist with 20 years of experience in treating more than 4,000 cases of persistent (late) Lyme disease. He is currently the first vice president of the International Lyme & Associated Disease Society, Inc (ILADS).
