Joseph A.      Bistyga

Joseph A. Bistyga, 67, of Monroe, died June 13 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Sigmund and Mary (Hink) Bistyga, he was a devoted family man.

He had retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in 1999 after 44 years of dedicated service as an aircraft mechanic.

Predeceased by his brother, Steven, he is survived by two daughters, Lynn Bistyga of Monroe and Diana Lubbers and her husband Gordon of Rochester, N.H.; a son, Joseph D. Bistyga of Monroe; three grandchildren, Sara, Kristen, and James of Oxford; a sister, Carol Hammer of Sandy Hook; and the mother of his children, Emily Singleton of Bayonne, N.J.; as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held privately at his family’s request by the Lesko-Miner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street, (Route 25), Monroe, with burial to be held at St Rose of Lima Cemetery, Newtown.
