Gruce Tile 4, Edwards Construction 3 â Kyle Kromberg lined a two-out double to score Scott Kim from first base in the bottom of the seventh inning for the victory. Adam Schankman, Anthony Gruce and Kromberg all pitched well. For Edwards, Matt Hamilton, Tory Deakin and Tyler Edwards (two runs scored) all had hits. Jeff Spencer pitched three scoreless innings.
Gruce Tile 3, Bob Tendler Real Estate 2 â Gruce scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to win. Anthony Gruce singled and came around to score on Adam Schankmanâs two-out triple to right field. Schankman then scored on a wild pitch for the win. With Gruce Leading 1-0 in the top of the sixth, Tendlerâs George Zaruba tripled home Zack Dloughy and Rob Blanc followed with a double to give Tendler a 2-1 lead.
Gruce Tile 2, Church Hill Physical Therapy 0 â Adam Schankman and Kyle Kromberg combined to pitch a no-hitter as Gruce forced the âif necessaryâ game of the championship. Schankman pitched four innings, only allowing a runner on an infield error. Kromberg pitched two innings, fanning four of the six batters faced. Nate Crevier singled and scored on Nick Wolfâs infield grounder and then Kevin Carney scored a run in the sixth, also on an infield grounder off the bat of Kromberg.

Savings Bank of Danbury 6, Connecticut Family Chiropractic 4 â Drew Robinson had a strong pitching performance with two hitless innings while Drew Seymour and Kyle Gallatin anchored the defense and Mike Herring had a good day at the plate with two hits to lead Savings Bank. For CFC, Thomas Santaniello pitched two strong innings while Josh Zimmerman and Sean LaPak made some nice plays in the field. Tim Roberts had one of the teamâstwo2 hits with a big double to drive in two runs.
In a championship slugfest, Linden Consulting rallied from a 12-4 deficit and slipped past Have Fun, Inc., 16-15, to capture the Cal Ripken AAA title last weekend.
Lindin earned a trip to the finals by winning all three games in the double-elimination tournament, out-scoring their opponents, 33-4. Have Fun, meanwhile, knocked off the No. 1 and No. 2 seeded teams before losing to Lindin in the semi-finals. But Have Fun defeated the No. 2 seed, again, in the loserâs bracket to get to the championship game.
During the regular season, Have Fun defeated Lindin, 15-7, with the aid of a 15-hit attack. But things were a little different in the championship game.
Down 12-4, Lindin rallied to within one run in the bottom of the fifth as Sean Fahey walked, Richie Sandler drove in two runs with a bases-loaded single, and Kyle Wilcox, Ryan Tita and Cole Baldino all collected hits.
In the top of the sixth, Have Fun extended its one-run lead to four runs as Daniel Snyder singled, Dunnigan reached on an error, Ibanez walked and Jason Marks rapped out a big hit. But in the bottom of the frame, Shearin and Sandler banged out hits to drive home and then Tita doubled in two runs to tie the score. The winning run scored on a ground ball to third by Ian Kirner.

Mastercard 8, Base Technologies 6 â Nick Lafky pitched well for the Chargers and led the offense with two doubles. Tyler Gibney (2 RBIs), Kevin Shpunt (3 RBIs) and David Gerics (2-for-3) also had key hits. For BASE Tech, Mike Scharfenberg sparked the offense going 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs. Chris Otero (2 hits, 2 RBI) and Dean Lindquist also contributed to the hitting. Colton Sposta sparked the D.
Mastercard 5, Ponsky DDS 3 â Alex Roche (1-for-3, RBI), Vikram Makayee (1-for-2), Sean Elliott (3-for-3) and Kevin Shpunt (2-for-2, 3 RBIs) led the Chargers. For Ponsky, Andrew Kelley homered, Nick Barreto went 3-for-3, Jeff Hoffman pitched well and Evan Swain turned a double play.
Onex 12, Ponsky DDS 11 â Dean Baye, Zach Carfi, Anders Fogelberg, Robbie Hughes and Sam Hill had key RBIs to lead Onex to the win. For Ponsky, Jeffery Hoffman tripled, Ryan Palmer hit well in a clutch situation, Evan Swain was solid all around, and Jimmy Russo stole two bases on one passed ball.
Onex 8, TR Paul 6 â Spencer Erhardt and Sam Hill had a key RBIs to lead Onex. Mario Pizighelli had two hits as Chris Robinson and Kevin LeBlanc pitched well.
