Candlewood Lake Panel Discussion

DANBURY — The final program in a series that has examined the history, ecology, economic importance and future of Candlewood Lake will take place at Western CT State University’s Student Center on Thursday, June 24, from 7 to 8 pm.

The panel discussion is free and open to the public. Attendance at previous lectures is not necessary in order to follow the evening’s discussion.

Candlewood Lake was created by The Connecticut Light & Power Company when it dammed the Rocky River in 1928.

Dr Christopher Kukk, a WCSU assistant professor of political science, will moderate “What Kind of Candlewood Lake Do We Want For The Next 30-50 Years?”

Panelists will include David Leff, the deputy commissioner of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection; Robert Gates, Northeast Generation Services Co.’s station manager; Larry Marsicano, the executive director of Candlewood Lake Authority; Tom Reynolds, the president of Connecticut Bass Federation; and George Poodiack, a co-owner of Echo Bay Marina.
