Town Players of Newtown announces auditions for "Summer Shorts" on Sunday and Monday, June 19-20, 7 to 9 pm each night, at The Little Theatre, 18 Orchard Hill Road.info@newtownplayers.org.

"Summer Shorts" will be an evening of short plays written by members of the Applied Theater Class at Garner Correctional Institute in Newtown. These entertaining and insightful works give voice to the experience of otherwise silent members of our community.

Elizabeth Young of Newtown will direct.

The production calls for six or seven multiracial men of various ages and two to four multiracial women of various ages.

No appointment is necessary. All roles are available, and sides will be provided at the audition.

Rehearsals begin at the end of June, and the production will run Friday and Saturday evenings, August 26-September 4, with one Sunday matinee.
