Newtown Resident Elected To World Affairs Forum Board
 STAMFORD â George Paik of Newtown was elected to a second term on the board of directors of the World Affairs Forum, at its June 9 annual meeting, held at the Stamford Yacht Club.Â
Mr Paik is managing director, LCP Capital, LLC, in New York. Previously he was vice president, national credits, at Peopleâs United Bank. Between 1988 and 1995, Mr Paik served in the US Foreign Service. He was vice consul and political affairs officer at the US Embassy in Port of Spain, Trinidad, and Tobago; political affairs officer in the US Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil; and at the US Department of State in Washington, D.C., in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs.
The World Affairs Forum is a nonprofit, nonpartisan community organization dedicated to expanding understanding of global affairs and Americaâs role in the world. The forum is an affiliate of the World Affairs Councils of America.
Founded in 1946, the forum is a membership organization that offers between 25 and 30 programs and events annually in Fairfield and Westchester Counties. These programs bring a variety of prominent speakers on international topics to the community.Â
