Botsford Incident
Police report that they received a call about 2:49 pm on June 13 from a Botsford Hill Road man reporting that his 17-year-old son had cut his hand on glass while he was involved in a dispute with the man.
Police went to the scene and learned that the youth had left the property, but he was soon found near the railroad bridge that passes above Botsford Hill Road. The youth then resisted arrest, according to police. Seven police responded to the incident.
Police said the youth was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, after which he was released from the hospital.
Their investigation into the incident showed that the youth had damaged several pieces of property at the Botsford Hill Road house and was in possession of marijuana, according to police.
Police charged him with disorderly conduct, interfering with police, second-degree criminal mischief, and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.
The youth was held overnight on $25,000 bail by police for a June 14 court arraignment in Danbury Superior Court, police said.
Because the youth who was charged with the crimes is under age 18, his identity is shielded from public disclosure by state law.
