Wild Kids Summer Program
DERBY â The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protectionâs Kellogg Environmental Center will be offering the Wild Kids Summer Programs for children ages 12â15 who are interested in improving the environment and habitat for wildlife, learning lifelong nature skills, and making new friends.
This year the program will focus on monitoring turtle populations as well as researching wildlife habitat and conducting an inventory of the turtle population in Osbornedale State Park. The goal of the Wild Kids program is to inspire the next generation of conservation leaders through hands-on environmental research experiences. .
The 2005 summer program dates are July 18â22, July 25â29, and August 21â25, from 8 am to noon each day.
Registration is on a single week basis. Cost is $40 per week. For more information and to register, call the Kellogg Center at 734-2513 between 9 am and 4:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Kellogg Environmental Center, is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue; signs are posted from Route 34.
