Trolley Tours Of Historic Fairfield
Trolley Tours Of Historic Fairfield
FAIRFIELD â The Fairfield Historical Society has planned three trolley tours for Sundays, June 26, July 24 and August 28. All tours begin at 2 pm and will last about 90 minutes.
The first tour will be led by Probate Judge Daniel Caruso, the second by First Selectman Kenneth Flatto, and the third by society board member Tom Grant, all of whom are avid local historians.
The tours have been created to re-trace the major trolley routes that helped shape todayâs Fairfield. The guided excursion on the trolley will visit important places in Fairfieldâs history including the Old Post Road Historic District, Stratfield, Southport and Greenfield Hill.
Beginning at the Fairfield Historical Society on the Old Post Road, the trolley will make stops along the way including Ogden House and Gardens on Bronson Road, an 18th Century saltbox farmhouse owned and operated by the society.
Tickets are $12 per person. Reservations are suggested as the trolley accommodates a limited number of passengers.
