Roadway Altercation Leads To Multiple Charges
Police said they received a report of an assault in progress, so they responded to the intersection of Main Street and Academy Lane about 3:50 pm June 14.
An incident between two motorists apparently had occurred several minutes earlier on Mt Pleasant Road, police said.
In that incident, motorist Michael C. Agius, 49, of 24 Poplar Drive allegedly struck the driverâs window of another motoristâs vehicle, causing shattered glass to fall onto a male and female within that vehicle, police said.
Neither of those two people were injured, police said.
Agius, however, was injured and was then transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment, police said.
After treatment, Agius was transported to the police station where he was arrested on charges of second degree reckless endangerment, third degree criminal mischief, and breach of peace, police said.
Police released Agius on a written promise to appear June 28 in Danbury Superior Court for arraignment on the criminal charges.
