Lockhart Program At SCAN Meeting
Lockhart Program At SCAN Meeting
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will host a demonstration by Ray Lockhart of Patterson, N.Y., on Wednesday, June 22, at 1:30 pm.
Mr Lockhart will be painting a watercolor seascape in the lower meeting room of Newtown Meeting House, at 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole). The public is invited, free of charge.
Mr Lockhartâs formative years were spent in a small fishing village on the shores of Lake Michigan. That experience deeply ingrained in him a love of the sea, ships, lighthouses, quaint fishing villages and their environs, which come to life in his clean crisp watercolors. Painting since childhood, he has enjoyed a distinguished career in the field of commercial art as a designer, art director, illustrator, and in fine arts as a watercolorist for over forty years.
Mr Lockhart has participated in numerous juried exhibitions sponsored by Kent Art Association and North East Watercolor Society. He won an Award of Excellent in the April 2003 and April 2005 Membersâ Show presented by Kent Art Association. He was also represented in a two-person exhibition at School House Gallery in 2001.
Mr Lockhart lectures and conducts workshops in watercolor and has many commissions to his credit along the East Coast and in the Midwest.
