Frederick H. Kirk

Frederick H. Kirk, 75, husband of Ann (Fritz) Kirk of Taunton Ridge Road, died June 13 at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by his family.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his three children, Jeffrey F. Kirk of Sandy Hook; Michael A. Kirk of Southbury; and Kimberly Gardner of Brookfield; two granddaughters, Maegan Kirk and Lauren Gardner; one grandson, Kirk Gardner; a son-in-law, William Gardner; and a daughter-in-law, Tracy Kirk. Mr Kirk is also survived by two brothers, Conrad Kirk of Shelton and Herman Kirk of Seymour; one sister, Regina Bannerman of Duxbury, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Norwalk, September 27, 1929, a son of the late John L. and Annie (Ertl) Kirk. Fred was raised in Stratford and was a graduate of Stratford High School and the University of Bridgeport. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948.

Mr Kirk, along with his partners, was the owner of Qualitron Corporation in Danbury. He was a member of the MGT Register.

He was a resident of Newtown since 1967, and delivered meals for Newtown Meals on Wheels. He was also a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church.

Funeral services will be held at 9 am Saturday, June 18, from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown, and at 9:30 am in St Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, Friday, June 17, from 4 to 7 pm.
