‘Fit Chicks’

Say Thanks

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Fit Chicks who represented Karen’s Fitness Studio, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the Relay For Life.

Thank you engineering team of Karen Gordon, JeanAnn Heise, Louise Mango, and Mark Moskowitz for putting together our tent without instructions!

Thank you to Beth Israel for the decorations made of what else: matzoh! Thank you also for the matzoh magnets and recipes.

Thank you Michelle Grillo for the snacks.

Thank you to all of the team members and their friends and families who donated money and/or walked the track: Barbara Donahue, Karen Gordon, Louise Mango, Elsa Kay and Joe, Jackie Chard, Susan White, JeanAnn Heise, Janet Woycik, Janet Hovious, Jane Brymer, Beth Israel, Amy Potucek, Lucy Handley, Kathy Maguire, Sue Aiello, Sheryl Fatse, and Marie Piscelli.

Thank you to all of you who made the famous matzoh recipe. I have never had so many questions about the difference between a bubble or a boil of toffee. You all came through and the amount of matzoh was unbelievable and overwhelming!

Thank you Karen Finlayson. You have provided us all with a place where friendships have been formed that are so meaningful to all of us. We are proud to be associated with you and the studio.

Most of all thank you to our “survivors” who give us inspiration every day: Daphne Gibney, Amy Dent, and Barbara McHugh! You are the greatest women!

The Fit Chicks raised in donations, luminaries, and matzoh sales a total of $3,140.

We had a great time and it was beautiful to experience this event with some of the finest fittest women in Newtown. My thanks and gratitude to all of you. I am proud an honored to call each one of you my friend.
