BROOKFIELD â For those looking for a fun, relaxing Sunday afternoon activity, Brookfield Library suggests its Afternoons at the Arbor Concert Series.
Tom Callinan â folksinger, songwriter, storyteller, sea-chanteyman, multi-instrumentalist, environmental activist and Connecticutâs first Official State Troubadour â will be performing on the lawn of the library on Sunday, June 26, at 4 pm, as part of the 2005 concert series. The participatory concert, âSongs of Land and Sea: Past and Present,â is designed to entertain all ages.
Mr Callinan has been a full-time performing and creative artist since 1977, presenting concerts from Maine to Florida, including a performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Â He has also appeared on popular commercial and public television shows, and has recorded numerous solo and ensemble recordings. Â Critics consistently cite his charisma and ability to involve the audience in his performances.
Admission is free and a reception, sponsored by The Friends of The Brookfield Library, will follow the concert.
Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
