Several Area Residents, Businesses Named In Multi-State Trash Indictment

DANBURY (AP) — While no Newtown residents or businesses have yet been named in relation to a historic criminal probe into regional trash hauling and waste disposal, several of the companies are known to serve private homeowners and commercial clients, as well as the town itself. The following people and businesses were named June 9 in a 117-page indictment that stemmed from a federal probe of mob influence over the trash industry in New York and Connecticut:

Individuals named:

James Galante, 53, of New Fairfield. Owner of Automated Waste Disposal Inc of Danbury, and several affiliates and subsidiaries.

Thomas Milo, 68, of Mamaroneck, N.Y. Co-owner with Galante of Automated Waste Disposal and some affiliates.

Matthew “Matty the Horse” Ianniello, 85, of Old Westbury, N.Y. A reputed boss of the Genovese crime family.

Christopher Rayner, 44, of Wilmington, N.C. Accountant to Galante and Milo.

Joseph Santopietro, 47, of Waterbury and former Waterbury mayor. Consultant to Galante and Milo’s businesses.

Richard Galietti, 33, of Riverhead, N.Y. Employed by trash businesses.

Ciro Viento, 43, of Mahopac, N.Y. Employed by trash businesses.

Richard Caccavale, 47, of Stormville, N.Y. Employed by trash businesses.

Paul DiNardo, 47, of Danbury. Employed by trash businesses.

Eric Romandi, 59, of Danbury. Employed by trash businesses.

Timothy Arciola, 35, of New Milford. Employed by trash businesses.

Ronald Zollo, 48, of Highland Mill, N.Y. Controller for businesses controlled by Galante and Milo.

Dennis Bozzuto, 35, of Madison. An owner and operator of John’s Refuse of Northford.

Jason Manafort, 36, of Southington. An owner and operator of CWPM trash-carting company of Plainville.

Jeremy Everett, 30, of Shelton. Sales manager of Allied Waste, operator of the Westchester County, N.Y., transfer station.

Alan Ferraro, 57, of New Canaan. An owner and operator of Tri-County Disposal of Brewster, N.Y.

David Magel, 33, of Baldwin Place, N.Y. General manager of CRP Carting of Elmsford, N.Y.

Scott McGowan, 37, of Yonkers, N.Y. Allied Waste employee and site manager of Westchester County transfer station.

Gary Mueller, 51, of Brewster, N.Y. Employee of Tri-County Disposal.

Anthony Novella III, 28, of Danbury. An owner and operator of A.J. Novella Sanitation of Danbury, purchased by Galante in 2005.

Arthur Wallinger, 41, of Cheshire. An owner and operator of AJ Waste Systems of Cheshire.

Joseph “Fat Joe” LoStocco, 42, of Danbury. An owner and operator of LoStocco Services of Danbury.

Philip Armetta, 75, of Middletown. An owner and operator of Dainty Rubbish of Middletown.

Anna Priskie, 45, of Cortland Manor, N.Y. Milo’s daughter; listed on company payroll without being an employee.

Carmine Dominicus, 42, of Danbury. Milo’s son-in-law; listed on company payroll without being an employee.

Lisa Henry, 45, of Southbury. Listed on company payroll for 15 years without being an employee; occupant of residence at which a Galante-owned investment company’s headquarters was registered.

J. Todd Stirling, 33, of Plymouth, Mass. Coach of Danbury Trashers hockey team in 2004-05.

Paul Galietti, 38, of Southbury. Connecticut state police trooper charged with using police resources to obtain vehicle information. Cousin to defendant Richard Galietti.

Louis Angioletti, 35, of New Jersey. Special agent of federal Drug Enforcement Administration, charged with using police database unlawfully to obtain information.
