Old Time Square Dance

To Be Held In Easton June 17

EASTON — A true, old time square dance will be hosted by the parish of Christ’s Church on Saturday, June 17, from 6 to 9 pm. The event will recall a simpler time, when a Saturday night square dance was the place to have an evening of fun, and people came from as far as they could travel to hear a good caller and good music.

The First Annual Christ’s Church Square Dance is open to everyone, young and old, and will offer that good country feeling for all who attend.

The square dance will feature Culver Griffin of Roxbury, a traditional caller with amazing energy, humor, and some 60 years of experience. Traditional music (with spirit) will be provided by The Jackson Pike Skifflers of Easton, a band with 40 years of experience playing music that dates back 200 years or more.

No special ability or experience is required; dancers must simply know left from right.

Dinner, dessert and beverages will also be available for purchase at the event.

Admission is $7 per person, $10 per couple, or $15 per family at the door. Save $1 per ticket by ordering in advance. Tickets are available at Easton Village Store, 440 Sport Hill Road, or by calling the parish office at 268-3569.

Rain date is Sunday, June 18, from 5 to 8 pm.

Christ’s Church is at 59 Church Road, just off Route 59, one quarter of a mile north of Route 136.
