The Career Center at Newtown High School presents the following list of national scholarships currently available for college-bound students. Please note that some of these scholarships request money to be sent with the scholarship application.
The Career Center automatically advertises all scholarships received in the mail. Ninth Annual Bill of Rights Essay Contest â This essay contest is sponsored by the National Foundation for Women Legislators and the National Rifle Association and is for female college-bound high school juniors or seniors, Class of 2006 or 2007. Each of the seven winners will receive a $3,000 scholarship for college and an all-expense paid trip to NFWLâs 2006 Annual Conference in the fall. Applicants must submit a 400- to 600-word essay on the topic, âTodayâs Heroic American Woman.â The deadline for submissions is August 15.
