Frederick Leonard Lord

Longtime Choir

Member At Newtown Congregational Church

Frederick Leonard Lord, 98, husband of the late Charlotte H. Lord, of Schenectady, N.Y., died June 11 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center, Schenectady. Mr Lord was born in New Haven January 21, 1908, son of James and Lillian Cole Lord.

He was employed as a maintenance operator at the Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown from 1949 until his retirement in 1974.

Mr Lord was a member of the Newtown Congregational Church since 1950 and a member of the senior choir from 1952 until 1985. He also served on the board of deacons and the board of trustees at the church.

He moved from Newtown to Schenectady in 1984 and attended the Stanford United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his son, Graham F. Lord and his wife, Susan, of Guilderland; one niece, Barbara Voskowsky and her husband, Edward, of Granby; and two nephews, David Robb of Willimantic and Eugene Blue of Newington. His beloved granddaughter, Deborah Sue, predeceased Mr Lord.

Funeral services were held June 14 at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, Guilderland, N.Y.

Burial followed at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Adult Day Rehabilitation Program at the Center for Disabilities Services, 314 South Manning Boulevard, Albany NY 12208.
