DUI Charge
Police report they stopped motorist Ivan Castano, 35, of Bridgeport for erratic driving in the Riverside Road/Alpine Drive area at about 2 am June 8.
After investigating, police charged Castano with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right.
After arrest processing, police released Castano on $50 bail for a June 27 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Butterfield Keys
On the morning of June 6, a set of keys was found near the intersection of Butterfield Road and Butternut Ridge. The set contains three house keys, one key to a Dodge motor vehicle, and a decorative pink flower ornament. Police are holding the keys for safekeeping at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 426-5841. Sergeant Darlene Froehlich is in charge of found property.
Warrant
Police report that they arrested Nickie M. Alberghini, 20, of Monroe on a warrant on June 8, lodging charges of second degree failure to appear in court, sixth degree larceny, and driving while under suspension. Monroe police had detained Alberghini after learning that Newtown police held a warrant for her arrest.
The original larceny charge against Alberghini stems from a reported theft of pumped gasoline from the Citgo gas station at 151 South Main Street last January, according to police.
After processing the arrest on June 8, police released Alberghini on $750 bail for a June 29 court appearance.
Marijuana Possession
Police said that they stopped the driver of a motor vehicle on Church Hill Road on the night of June 11 because the driver had made an unsafe start.
In investigating the case, police had their dog sniff the exterior of the vehicle, after which the animal indicated that drugs were present, according to police.
Police said they found that a passenger in the vehicle, Nicole Briana Tarshis, 19, of 11 Phyllis Lane, was in possession of marijuana. Police said they charged Tarshis with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.
After processing, police released Tarshis on $100 bail for a June 28 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Castle Hill Crash
About 7 pm June 9, police responded to Castle Hill Road, near King Street, on learning that there had been a one-car accident there.
Police said motorist Melissa Paynter, 16, of 24 Aunt Park Lane told them that she was driving a 1996 Jeep Cherokee on the wet road in the rain, when she swerved in order to avoid an oncoming vehicle that was partially in her travel lane.
The Jeep then went out of control, struck curbing, hit a stone wall and then collided with a tree, police report. Paynter was not injured. Police said they verbally warned Paynter for making a restricted turn.
DUI Charge
Police report that at about 12:02 am on June 11, they spotted motorist Jill Kieffer, 42, of 15 Farrell Road driving a Honda Civic sedan erratically northward on Main Street, near East Street, so they stopped her to investigate.
After she performed field sobriety tests, police charged Kieffer with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right.
After processing, police released Kieffer on $50 bail for a June 27 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Trespassing Charges
After receiving a report that there were three suspicious males in the area of Dickinson Park at 50 Elm Drive, police went to that area about 11:47 pm June 8 to investigate.
Police said they found that the three men had climbed over a fence to enter the park after hours.
Police said they issued each of the three men an infraction ticket for simple trespassing. Such tickets carry a $92 fine, which may be appealed in court.
Charged with simple trespassing were: Phillip Ullrich, 22, of 6 Brassie Road, and Drew Parsons, 21, and Brandon Parsons, 24, both of 20 Bonnie Brae Drive, police said.
Berkshire Collision
Police report a two-car accident about 8:12 pm June 8 on Berkshire Road, at its intersection with Grays Plain Road and Bennett Bridge Road.
Police said a 1997 Toyota sedan driven by Emilio Hernandez, 33, of New Haven crashed into the rear end of a 2002 Lexus sedan driven by Sam Devellis, 31, of Trumbull. The Lexus had been waiting on westbound Berkshire Road to make a left turn onto Grays Plain Road when the crash occurred, police said.
Ambulance volunteers transported Hernandez to Danbury Hospital on a complaint of neck pain, police said. The accident is under investigation, according to police.
Honda Vs Deer
Police report an accident occurred near 119 Berkshire Road about 6:13 pm June 8.
Motorist Steven E. Gordon, 50, of Brushy Hill Road, who was driving a 1996 Honda sedan eastward on Berkshire Road, encountered a deer that had run onto the road, police said. The auto and the deer collided. Gordon was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Subaru Crash
About 7 am June 12, while he was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza station wagon westward near 153 Sugar Street, motorist Terence Nelan, 35, of 28 Greenbriar Lane encountered a deer that had entered the road, police report. The deer and the station wagon collided. Nelan was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
 Moving Violations
Police report they stopped motorist Zalvern Harrison, 48, of Bridgeport in a parking lot at 20 Church Hill Road about 5:45 am June 13 to investigate. Police said they charged Harrison with driving while under suspension, failure to return a suspended license, and failure to have automotive insurance.
After processing, police released Harrison on a written promise to appear June 27 in Danbury Superior Court.
Route 302
Motorist Laho Klodjan, 24, of Waterbury was stopped on Route 302 about 6:30 pm June 13 for having an expired marker plate registration sticker, police report.
Police said an investigation resulted in Klodjan being charged with driving an unregistered vehicle and driving while under suspension. Klodjan was released on $100 bail for a June 27 court appearance.
DUI Arrest
About 6:26 pm June 12, police spotted motorist Jamie King, 23, of Watertown swerving into the oncoming lane while driving near 31 South Main Street, so they stopped her to investigate.
Police said that after giving King sobriety tests, they charged her with driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right. After posting $100 bail, King was released for a June 28 court appearance.
Incident
Police said they were called to a Washbrook Road residence about 3:17 am June 14 on a report of a man causing a disturbance there.
Police said that Timothy Lambert, 40, of Trumbull was outside the building, damaging the house and a vehicle. Lambert also shut off the propertyâs electricity, police said.
Police charged Lambert with breach of peace, first-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree reckless endangerment. Police said they held Lambert on $25,000 bail for a court appearance.
MV Charges
On June 9, police charged Michael Conlin, 27, of Monroe with a traffic signal violation, driving while under suspension, failure to have automotive insurance, and failure to carry a vehicle registration. Police released Conlin on $100 bail for a June 29 court appearance.
