Day Of Relay

Volunteers Thanked

To the Editor:

The success of the 2006 Newtown Relay For Life could not have been possible without all the terrific help of these dedicated “Day of Relay” volunteers.

We would like to thank Glorianne Garvin and Patrick Binio for organizing the Boy Scouts of Troop 70: Jonathan Malia, Andrew Shugarts, Jordon Reed, Josh Fintz, Kevin Woloszynski, Adam Woloszynski, and Tim Boncek. Thank you Kelly Makuch and Allison Makuch for your long hours and smiling faces. The tireless Mascher family: Tom, Alice, Bobby, Tommy and Katie for jumping in and covering all the bases. Haley Russo, Meghan Dolyak and friends for the stadium decorations. Roseanne Loring and the Newtown Youth Services Volunteers: Bryant Aliaga, Kate Kelleher, Dylan Kelleher, Christie Czamecki, Kayla, Rustici, and Ashley Duncan and Veronica Parsloe. Thanks to Bob Davenport, Tyler Davenport, Donna Gentrup, Carol Henry, Kristin Stoller, Lorraine Chilson, Connor Chilson, Ellen Binio, Andrea Spencer, Kevin Donohue, CJ Donohue, Daniel Spencer, Michael Notaro, Eric Showblom, Matt Hodge, Nick Mauer, Kenny Cardelle, Debbie Eventoff, Jake Eventoff, Janice Fields, Dawn Tanner, Karen Gordon, Stacey Gordon, Erin Nemith and Donna Majlinger. Thanks also to Ivette Gerics for help in finding even more willing volunteers as we got closer to the relay day.

We are so impressed with the people of Newtown for their generous contributions to this year’s relay. It is so gratifying to have our job made that much easier when time and again we heard Newtowners say, “What can I do to help?”

We especially want to thank the amazing organizers, Helen Benson, Linda Russo, and Guy Russo. They put together a memorable, moving, well run, and very successful event.

Thanks Everyone!
