Riverside Road
Police report that at about 2 pm on June 9, motorist Carol Lockwood, 73, of 9 Pine Street, who was driving a 2008 Toyota Yaris sedan in the westbound lane near 34 Riverside Road, came to a stop for an emergency vehicle that was responding to a call.
Westbound motorist Kenton Lord, 21, of 35 Cherry Street, who was driving a 2003 Saab 9-5 sedan, then struck the rear end of the Toyota, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said the gave Lord a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Buick Damaged
Sometime between 7 and 9:30 pm on June 1, a 2005 Buick auto, which was parked near 58 Main Street, received damage to its left front bumper when some unknown motorist struck the Buick and then left the scene without reporting the collision, police said.
Police said they were not informed on the incident until June 3. Police ask anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact investigating Officer Steven Borges at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.
Keys Found
Police report that at about 6:13 pm on June 9, a person found a pair of keys at The Pleasance, a park at 1 Main Street. One of the keys is for a vehicle and the other key is for a door in a building, police report. Police are holding the keys for safekeeping. The keysâ owner may contact police to claim the keys.
Church Hill Crash
Motorist James Higginbotham, 66, of Phoenix, Ariz., who was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus sedan eastward on Church Hill Road at about 8:05 pm on June 5, stopped in order to allow the driver of a westbound noncontact vehicle to make a left turn from westbound Church Hill Road into the Blue Colony Diner parking lot at 66 Church Hill Road, police report.
Eastbound motorist Andrea DâAquila, 49, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2011 Audi A-4 sedan, then drove into the Fordâs rear end, police said.
There were no injuries. DâAquila received a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said.
Moving Violations
Police report that they stopped motorist Bruno Cunha, 23, of Danbury at about 6 pm on June 9 near the intersection of Mt Pleasant Road and The Old Road to investigate.
Police report they charged Cunha with illegal use of a handheld cellphone while driving, driving with a suspended license, and driving without a license.
Police released Cunha on $100 bail for a June 21 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Highway DUI
State police report that motorist Laurie Lubus-Bustamante, 46, no address given, was driving a 2000 Nissan Maxima sedan westward on Interstate 84, about one-half mile east of Exit 11, about 5 pm on June 8, when the auto went off the left side of the road and struck some guardcabling along the median.
Lubus-Bustamante was not injured. State police investigated and charged Lubus-Bustamante with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, and failure to drive in the proper lane.
State police released Lubus-Bustamante on $1,500 bail for a June 25 court appearance.
Warrant
State police report they used an arrest warrant to press charges against Doreen Ek, 45, of New Milford on the morning of June 8, charging Ek with second-degree forgery, criminal impersonation, interfering with police, and with driving under suspension.
State police said the arrest stems from a February 10 accident on Exit 11 of Interstate 84 in which Ek allegedly provided police with her sisterâs identity as being her identity.
State police said they released Ek on $1,500 bail for a June 25 court appearance.
Honda Vs Honda
At about 4 pm on June 7, motorist Catherine Saenz, 23, of Easton, Penn., was driving a 1999 Honda Accord eastward on Interstate 84, about 1,300 feet east of Exit 9, when eastbound motorist Franklyn Ragan, 24, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2003 Honda Civic, struck the rear end of the Accord, state police report.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
Interstate Crash
State police report that motorist John Franklin, 57, of 61 Tomahawk Trail, who was driving a 2010 Nissan Rogue SUV westward on Interstate 84, almost a mile east of Exit 9, at about 7:40 am on June 7, slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by a westbound 2012 Ford driven by Alice Kauffman, 65, of Hanover, Penn. The Ford carried three passengers.
Kauffman and passengers in the Ford were transported to Danbury Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries, state police said. Enforcement information was not available.
I-84 Accident
At about 4:44 pm on June 6, motorist Linda Na, 41, of Naugatuck, who was driving a 2005 Ford Econoline van on eastbound Interstate 84 near Exit 11, slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by eastbound motorist Erik Werner, 25, of Cheshire, who was driving a 2010 Dodge Avenger, state police report.
Newtown Ambulance volunteers transported Na to Danbury Hospital to be checked for possible injuries, state police said.
Werner received an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, according to state police.

Interstate Collision
Motorist Kelly McDonald, 20, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2007 Hyundai Sonata westward on Interstate 84, about 500 feet west of Exit 9, stopped for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by westbound motorist Thomas Berlenbach, 22, of Southbury, who was driving a 2006 Nissan Sentra, state police report.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
Chevrolet Vs Subaru
State police said that at about 4:40 pm on June 4, motorist Leo White, 37, of Canton, who was driving a 2006 Subaru Legacy eastward on Interstate 84, near Exit 9, slowed to a stop for traffic conditions, after which the Subaru was struck from behind by a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Eric Kayser, 43, of Waterbury.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
Weapons Charges
Police said they were performing overnight building checks at Plaza South at 266 South Main Street at about 1 am on June 12, when they noticed a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck backing down a steep earthen slope lying west of the plaza.
Police said that motorist James Walsh, 21, of 11 Yearling Lane had attempted to drive the truck up the steep slope from the plaza to Bryan Lane. But on reaching the top of the slope, the truck struck some guardrailing that is positioned along Bryan Lane, damaging that guardrailing, police said. The slope also was damaged, according to police.
The truck needed to be backed down the slope, police said.
Police said they charged Walsh with first-degree criminal mischief and with two counts of possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle. The weapons found were a set of brass knuckles and a hunting knife, police said.
After arrest processing, police released Walsh on $1,000 bail for a June 26 court appearance.
SUV Off Road
Police report that motorist Christine Hermes, 36, of 99 Brushy Hill Road was driving a 2005 Ford SUV near 29 Brushy Hill Road about 9 am on June 3, when the vehicle drove straight at a slight left turn in the road and then struck some curbing and a tree stump along the right road shoulder.
Neither Hermes nor two passengers were injured, police said. Police said they warned Hermes for making a restricted turn.
Flagpole Intersection
A two-vehicle collision occurred at the flagpole intersection of Main Street, Church Hill Road, and West Street about 2:30 pm on June 10.
Police said motorist Hugh Carey, 71, of 30 Platts Hill Road, who was driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan, attempted to make a left turn from westbound Church Hill Road onto southbound Main Street, but collided with motorist Alexandre Paulichi, 37, of Danbury, who was driving a 1998 Subaru Legacy station wagon. At the time of the crash, the Subaru was in the correct lane and had the right of way, police said.
There were no injuries. Carey received a written warning for failure to grant the right of way, police said.
Boat Theft
Police report that on the morning of June 12, they arrested two people at the town boat launch at the Lake Lillinonah section of the Housatonic River at 196 Hanover Road for allegedly having stolen a boat from New Milford.
Police said the recovered stolen vessel was a 12-foot-long open aluminum boat that has an outboard motor. Police said the boat was stolen from a boating club in New Milford. New Milford has frontage on Lake Lillinonah. Â
Police said they charged Megan Roberts, 22, of New Milford with third-degree larceny. Police said they additionally charged her with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police report they charged Jacob Hagy, 23, of Illinois with third-degree larceny. Police said Hagy initially had provided them with a false identity, so they additionally charged him with criminal impersonation and interfering with police. Third-degree larceny is a felony.
Police said they learned that Hagy is wanted by Illinois authorities.
Roberts was held on $1,000 bail and Hagy was held on $100,000 bail for arraignments on June 13 in Danbury Superior Court, police said.
Drug Charges
Police report that while on patrol at Treadwell Park on Philo Curtis Road about 2:30 pm on June 12, they spotted two males sitting within a parked vehicle from which police detected the odor of burning marijuana.
Police said that one of the males in the vehicle, Marc Bonacci, 20, of 6 Founders Lane, was found to be in possession of more than three ounces of marijuana. Police said they charged Bonacci with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school zone.
Police released Bonacci on $500 bail for a June 26 court appearance.
Police said they issued an infraction to the other male in the vehicle, Mitchell Lobuglio, 19, of 62 Taunton Lake Road on charges of possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Such infractions carry fines that are payable by mail or may be appealed in court.
