McCann Brothers vs Craig Doersch Painting: It was another strong effort for the McCann Brothersâ Pink Panthers on Saturday morning in a game plagued by rain showers. The hitting attack was led by Grace Lynch, Noelle Marrazzo, Grace Popkin, Caroline Gardner, and Addie Sullivan, who knocked hits all over the field. Defensively, Sofia Verdi, Sarah Kovach, Maren Leyva, Rachel Casagrande, and Jocelyn Bazuro made several nice put-outs. Craig Doersch Painting started at bat, with line drive base hits by Isabelle Caron and Cassie Fossum. Ashlynn MacLeod followed with a long hit to left center and Lilly Mindenhall had a strong hit back to the pitcher to drive Isabelle home. In the field, Casey Quinn played strong defense at first base. In the second inning, Ashley Guerrera hit the ball down the first base line and was driven home by a second long hit to left center by Ashlynn MacLeod. Mikayla Maurer had a line drive to third to end the inning. The girls closed out the game with strong defensive support from Ashley Cote.
Carminuccioâs Pizza vs Pomperaug A: Carminuccioâs Pizza started in the field with Bridgette McCleary having a solid performance in the catcherâs position, while Hailey Avari offered strong support from the pitcherâs mound. At the plate, Deirdre Smith and Reilly Powers had solid base hits with each at-bat.
Diamond Electrical Supply vs Pomperaug B: Diamond Electrical Supply started the game with great defense by Alexa Glynn at third base as well as Alyssa Jones at first. Katie Daoust had a great catch in the first inning, as did Gwenyth Shaw. Eleanor Glassman had a great line shot in the second inning as well as Tory Lewis, Michaela Bonacci, and Sara Olam all getting singles. Adian Herbstman finished up the game for Diamond Electrical Supply with a great stop at third.

Taunton Press 4, McCann Brothers 3: The Taunton Press Pink Panthers delivered another win on Thursday night, defeating the McCann Brothers 4 to 3. Offensively, Taunton Press players showed their batting prowess, with Julia Minchak, Morgan Melillo, Allison Hechler, Nicole Fisher and Brenna Navin all batting a thousand for the game. Madelyn Twitchell, Brooke Kinsey, Carol Anne Scinto and Olivia Bonacci also had base hits contributing to the win. Tessa Bigwarfe and Jillian Clure were strong in the field. Morgan Melillo had an unassisted double play to end the game.
New England Bounce About 5, McCann Brothers 0: Itâs on to the championship game for the young Bounce Abouts. In the bottom of the last inning of an old-fashioned pitching duel which saw Ashley Silvaggi strike out several girls, Sarah Savinelli delivered the game-winning RBI with a double. Maddie Greenhaw saved a run with her glove late in the game from center field with a putout at second base to end a run-producing rally. Jenna Reilly, Joey Libero, Abby Watson, and Sarah Kick provided solid fielding.
Taunton Press 11, Nuzzo Electric 8: The Taunton Press Pink Panthers charge into the playoffs on a four-game winning streak after defeating Nuzzo Electric in a batting dual on Saturday. Every member of the Pink Panther team had two base hits, moving the batters around the bases well and scoring 11 runs. Allison Hechler had two powerhouse doubles, driving in multiple runs. Madelyn Twitchell was strong on the mound for the Taunton Press team. Nuzzo Electricâs Carly Nuzzo and Gina Lewis each had two hits and two runs scored. Lenie Urbina and Emma Archiere drove in two runs each. Ava Berry pitched well and Allison Pavlicek played well in the field. Victoria Chop had a single and scored one run.
Nuzzo Electric 7, New England Bounce About 6: Nuzzo Electricâs Emily Longo and Oliva Nikolis each had a hit and drove in one run. Melina Cummings pitched well and Lauren Haynes played well in the field. Sophie Satmary had a single and scored one run.

Associated Refuse 7, McCann Brothers 0: Associated Refuseâs Juliette Cryder led the team with a triple. Emily Krasnickas and Alea Willis each had a double, while Lianna Perazzo, Megan OâRourke, Katherine Pendergast, Brianna Giglio, Sienna Cummings, and Veronica Vodola all hit singles to help win the game. Alea Willis and Hannah Marcum made key plays in the field. Kendra Saunders had two hits and Sophie Muzzio had another for McCann Brothers. Gabrielle Calbo was outstanding on the mound, fielding her position flawlessly. Kiersten Fallon and Ashleigh Thomas were the defensive stars for McCann Brothers.
McCann Brothers 4, Stone River Grille 3: McCann Brothers came from behind to notch their second win of the season. Grace McEneaney was the hitting star for McCann Brothers when she knocked in three runs with a bases-clearing triple. Hannah Cicciari also added a hit and knock in a run for McCann Brothers. Sarah Holcomb was solid in the field. Jaclyn Moccio pitched three solid innings.
Stone River Grille 3, Newtown Hardware 2: Shaunna Tucker, Olivia Grant, Julie Hess, Beth Savinelli. and Heather Stroili had key hits to give Newtown Hardware a 2-0 lead. Heather Stroili and Beth Savinelli pitched a great game holding off the Stone River Grille bats until the last inning. Charlize Marrazzo played good defense to keep the game close.
Newtown Hardware 4, Associated Refuse 3: For Newtown Hardware, Mia Villeneuve had a game sheâll never forget. Miaâs sensational outfield catch saved 4 runs that would have easily been a grand slam home run. Later that inning she ripped a double, stole third, and scored her second run of the season. To top it off, she made a double play in the last inning to keep the go-ahead run from scoring. Heather Stroili drove home Virginia Hepp with the winning run in the last inning for the most exciting game of the season. Julie Hess had three hits, while Ally Hurley Tess Trahan and Tori Stevens had singles that kept the rally going. Associated Refuse played good defense with Veronica Vodola, Victoria Keayes, Juliette Cryder, Emily Krasnickas, Catherine Pendergast, and Taylor McPadden holding strong. Juliette Cryder led the team with a triple, while Brianna Griglio hit a double. Lianna Perazza, Veronica Vodola, Catherine Pendergast, Victoria Keayes, and Taylor McPadden each had singles.
Stone River Grille 13, Associated Refuse 7: Stone River Grille clenched the first place spot on Saturday with a win against Associated Refuse and a win against Newtown Hardware. Stone River Grille had a great season led by outstanding team work from Shanna Adam, Chloe Bigwarf, Angela Carriero, Ally Daoust, Grace Eurell, Madison Hintze, Natalie Horn, Caroline Malin, Kali Ryder, Isabella Satmary, Hanna Seger, Ryssa Swanson, and Ally Tolson. Associated Refuseâs Alea Willis, Lianna Perazza, and Brianna Giglio each had a single. Sienna Cummings, Juliette Cryder, and Hannah Marcum each drove in runs. Taylor McPadden and Meghan OâRourke each had a double. Emily Krasnickas led the team with a triple. Catherine Pendergast made an awesome catch at home plate. On the mound for Associated Refuse were Sienna Cummings and Juliette Cryder.
McCann Brothers 2, Newtown Hardware 0: McCann Brothers continued their winning ways when they won the first game of a doubleheader 2-0. Jaclyn Moccio, Shannon Jackman, Samatha Henriques, and Anna Burns all contributed on the pitcherâs mound to the shut out. Danielle Blanco was rock solid behind the plate. Jackman also had two hits while batting in a run and scoring a run for McCann Brothers. For Newtown Hardware, Heather Stroili, Julie Hess, Virginia Hepp, and Shaunna Tucker pitched well in defeat. Heather Stroili kept her four-game hitting alive with a single up the middle. Julie Hess and Shaunna Tucker had two incredible fielding plays to keep the game close.
Newtown Hardware 6, McCann Brothers 2: Olivia Grant, Charlize Marrazzo, Mia Villeneuve, and Tori Stevens had key hits to give Newtown Hardware a lead they would not relinquish. Ally Hurley, Tess Trahan, and Virginia Hepp had their best hitting games of the season with two hits each. Julie Hess pitched to pick up her first win of the season and Shaunna Tucker, Ally Hurley, Olivia Grant, Virginia Hepp, and Tess Trahan combined to pitch shut out innings. McCann Brothers was led by Kiersten Fallon, who had a hit and knocked in a run. Anna Burns also had a hit and scored a run. Grace McEneaney and Sophie Mozzio were outstanding in their pitching debut. Lauren Kohler was stellar as catcher for McCann Brothers.

Blueline Designs 10, Claim Services International 10: Claim Services International and Blueline Designs ended their game in a tie. Claim Servicesâ Kaysie Fisher had two hits including a two-run triple and Joy Metzger knocked in two runs with a single. Elizabeth Maker and Briana Castellano also had run scoring hits. Both teams received great defensive support from Jackie Gouveia.
McCann Brothers 6, WellBaskets.com 4: In a game that took two days to complete, McCann Brothers were the victors over WellBaskets.com. During the first two innings on Monday night, the McCann Pink Pigeons proved to be strong both offensively and defensively. Abby Pereira slammed a two-run double, while Allie Eurell had a solid base hit. Sara Matté showed her know-how at the plate with a fantastic sacrifice RBI. Defensively the Pigeons did great with Lindsey Sherwood on the mound striking out two batters and teaming up with Sophie Ackert for a great out at first base. With six runs under their belt, the Pigeons held WellBaskets.com to just one run before the game was postponed due to rain. Upon picking the game up again on Saturday the Pigeons managed to maintain their lead for the win with a final score of 6-4.
Blueline Designs 9, WellBaskets.com 7: It was a tough day for Wellbaskets.com losing to both McCann Brothers and BlueLine Designs by two runs. Kaelana Dauber, Tegan Doherty, and Christina Sgobbo shared the pitching duties. Nicki DaPra had a single and a double and Jacklin Gouveia hit two singles and a triple.

John M Glover Wild Thing 15, Southbury 6: The Wild Thing topped Southbury fielding only eight players by a score of 15-6. On Offense, Jackie Scgobbo went 1-for-4 with two RBIs, Annie Hoffman went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Tina Demaio went 2-for-5 with three RBI. On defense, Lexi Tucker and Skylar Kneski each had no-hit innings. Jillian Gibney rocked a great double. The Wild Thing advanced to a record of 10-4.
John M Glover Wild Thing 12, New Fairfield 10: The Wild Thing beat New Fairfield in a squeaker 12-10, advancing their record to 10-4. On offense, Skylar Kneski, Jamie Fellin, Jillian Gibney, and Jackie Scobbo all crossed the plate twice. Jillian Gibney hit a strong shot to center field. Sam Cody pitched a no hit inning while Lexi Tucker was solid on the mound. Sarah Mawdsley did her usual strong job at the plate stopping most everything as catcher.

Newtown Hawks 14, Danbury 4: Allie Eurell pitched an excellent game against Danbury! Erin Burns played a strong first base and Amanda Berry was solid at second base. Offense standouts included Rylee Mulligan with a double, Jacklin Gouveia with two doubles, and Jenna Carvalho with two singles.
